A trip to discover the beauty of two gulfs

Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi is a beautiful town located between two gulfs of Naples and Salerno.

Situated nearby Naples, the town of Sant’Agata is an excellent destination for a weekend or one-day trip.

From the perspective of the Monastero delle Monache Benedettine on the hill, called “Il Deserto” (“desert”), the view is immersed in the blue of two gulfs.

At once, one may admire the Gulf of Naples and the Gulf of Salerno. From the city centre it is possible to access a small beach, Marina di Crapolla where, according to an old legend, unloaded St. Peter in order to reach Rome. There is in fact a small homonym shrine located nearby that was erected on the former temple of Apollo.

Situated on the slopes of the Lattari Mountains, nearby Amalfi Coast, Sant’Agata is an ideal tourist destination, offering both the sea and the countryside: in the summer the air is fresh and if one is willing to sunbathe, the local beach is just downhill. If it comes to landscape, the first amusing particulars that one notice are Capri Island and small islands called Li Galli, formerly the propriety of the russian dancer Rudolf Nureyev, until his recent death.

Why Sant’Agata is worth seeing? First of all it consists in a marvelously relaxing location, offering beautiful views of the sea. In addition, it is particularly tempting for refined palates: hereabout one can taste delicious dishes. Our tip? Da Alfonso restaurant...
